Japan vs America: Street Fighter

Some of you may remember the live action Street Fighter movie with Jean-Claude van Damme and Raul Julia (RIP). It wasn’t that good but ya know, it had that ‘it’s so bad it’s good’ thing going for it that made me laugh. The movie spawned a cartoon series and a game which is kind of weird when you think about it …. a game based off of a movie, based off of a game. O_o

Since Japan doesn’t have a live action Street Fighter movie, we’ll be comparing the animated series from both the USA and Japan.

American: (lame)

Japanese: (*cough* gay)

Japanese again but American version of the opening:

I personally think the last one here is the winner since it gives a more accurate feel for the show than the original Japanese opening and, from what I remember, the dub wasn’t bad but decide for yourself!

Remember when you were 16 and you made a mixtape for that girl you had a crush on, and she totally rejected you and i cried for hours in my closet until i fell asleep?

Well, Capcom has partnered with some of the biggest names in the hip-hop biz to bring this downloadable mixtape to Marvel vs Capcom 2. Now all gamers can feel like its their first date.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Release Date Set… sort of

One of the most anticipated re-releases this year has to be Marvel Vs Capcom 2. The street date has been set as July 29th.

I’m going to sleep now, someone wake me up in about 3 weeks!

Monster Hunter goes triple platinum in Japan

Monster Hunter, one of the few mega Japan franchises that has not caught on in the US, has gone the equivalent of triple platinum (3.5 platinum to be exact).

The game has shipped 3.5 million copies on the PSP, the first game to do so… ever.

I think its really a matter of marketing….if these fine ladies sold Monster Hunter in the US, they would sell 3.5 million more!
