There are very few laws against discrimination in Malaysia. This is not an atypical sign. SPM and PMR are educational levels. Are you self-motivate?

Hey that’s a McRib! Nope. It’s called a Prosperity Burger here. It’s also made out of beef not pork (muslim country so pork is scarce). It’s got an interesting peppery taste and definitely inferior to the McRib. Also McDonalds in Malaysia has twisty fries and a drink called a McFizz which is half Sprite, half Minutemaid. Why do they get all the cool stuff?!

This is called Roti Tissue, a variation of Roti Canai that I found in Kuala Lumpur. It’s very very thin, crispy tissue-like as you can tell by the name. It’s usually covered in a sweet syrup. This one was covered in Milo. There’s a large Indian population living in Malaysia and we reaped the rewards of that.

Taiwan/Hong Kong aren’t the only countries that get cute pastries.

Considering the exchange rate ($1USD = 3.1 RM), this “Australian Rock Melon” (better known as cantaloupe) is extremely expensive ($10 USD). Especially when most people only make 500RM a month.

Live eels at a seafood restaurant. It was disgusting and delicious at the same time. I have a video if you guys want to see them slither around…

This is a very malaysian dish called “Char kuey teow” which very literally means “fried noodle.” Even with this generic name, the specific recipe and ingredients are very specific. There are quite literally hundreds of hawker stands whose sole dish is this one.

Fresh squid just hanging out. We ate one a few minutes after.

I’m sure you’ve seen egg tarts but green ones? Pandan is a flavorful leaf that they use in pastries and jelly.

Milo Dinosaur. Milo is *crazy* popular here. This is a variation with Milo powder on top too. Delicious.

This is a tower of butter they use on a malaysian styled toast.

Is it an egg? Is it a fish ball? It’s both. I haven’t figured out how they do this yet and it was surprising to say the least when I bit into it.

Another very traditional Malaysian dish called Nasi Lemak or rice in cream. It’s not really cream but a dish with rice, cucumber, egg, peanuts, anchovies and a sweet sambal sauce.

Apparently one of the three Guinness breweries is in Malaysia. This is a special brew that comes from that factory. Difficult to get in the States.

Nothing better than some cold papaya to finish the meal.

If you didn’t know, tropical fruits are ginormous in South East Asia. Malaysia is no exception.

The average temperature in Malaysia is something like 81° F and 70%-100% humidity. Why would anybody need a heater? Why indeed. Most cars do not have heaters, just a dial for how cold do you want it.

Unlike the States, drug trafficking is given the highest punishment. No joke. There’s 0 illegal drugs in Malaysia.

The monorail in downtown Kuala Lumpur. It costs $0.60 USD to ride and gets packed during rush hour.

Monitor lizard. The resort we stayed in keeps one in their artifical lake as a pet. It walks around scaring children all day.
