When gamers give back, it makes a difference!

This is not your usual DailbyBento post. With the holiday season coming up, I wanted to mention one of the few charities that I wholehearted support. Child’s Play is the brainchild of Gabe over at Penny Arcade, a webcomic about gamers and gaming. With all the negative press video games get about fostering violence in our youth, Gabe sought to rally the gaming community in making a positive contribution to society. Donations made to Child’s Play puts video games, toys, and movies into hospitals around the United States. Some of the kids in these hospitals are too sick to spend the holidays at home, and having toys simply helps them get through a tough time. Read through their letters from former patients and family — it reminds me why it’s important to contribute to what you believe in and makes me proud to be a gamer.
