China’s Latest Export: Teeth that Cut Steel

Another day, another crazy story from Asia.   No this crazy news isn’t from Thailand nor is it some wacky product from Japan.   This story is about a Chinese thief come from the deep regions of the mainland (or Chongqing for you geography scholars).

Up front and center is a 23 year old man named Xiong with a splendid mugshot debuting his gnarly teeth.  What did he do you may ask?  He has been in the respectable business of robbing homes for over the past 2 years.  What were his tools to pry open steel window bars?  His teeth.   Yes, those ones right there.

Allegedly, he would naw through up to 1cm thick steel window bars.  He was never stopped by security as a suspect as he would never carry around any burglar tools during his raids.   When questioned how he developed this skill as well as those destructive fangs, he told police that he was from a mountain town and had sharpened his teeth by using them to open up the abundance of walnuts in his town.  Go figure.
